Two Cases of Hereditary Spherocytosis

Abstract
|
|
|
Two cases of hereditary spherocytosis in one family were presented.
One case(case 1), 15 year old boy, had icteric sclera since the age of 6. He was diagnosed as. hereditary spherocytosis by family history, increased osmotic fragility, increased autohemolysis,negative direct and indirect Coombs´ test, and spberecytes in peripheral blood smear. Spienectomv wa. performed on him on Aug. 21, 1974 successfully.
The other case (case 2), younger sister of case 1, was a 12 year old girl whose sclera had been icteric since the age of 6. Splenectomy was done on her on Jan. 21, 1975 successfully. Both. were discharged in healthy condition and in good health without any complication until now.
